All,

I need some help.  I am a newbie, and I am trying to figure out the correct way to join these two SW parts together. For the sake of discussion I labeled the ‘Vertical Revolve’ A, and the ‘Horizontal Revolve’ B.  I am trying to create the model pictured as ‘elbow.jpg.’  I am unsure how to “mate” my parts, A and B together … or if ‘mating’ is even the right choice.

SolidWorks will not let me mate a ‘curved’ surface A, to a ‘flat’ surface B (end), so I am not sure how to make sure these parts (A and B) are joined properly.  I figure that I can slide B into A (?), so they create a model of my picture (elbow.jpg), but I am not sure if that is the right way to go about it? I am just not sure how to do it.

A second issue is the ‘eyelet’.  If I make it part of the original sketch (after I create the ‘Horizontal’ Revolve), I have to start the ‘eyelet’ sketch sort of down inside the revolve (at the plane), so it protrudes through the top, or pokes out, and then I can finish the shape. Is that normal?  What is the best way to create the ‘eyelet’?

I took a 5 day class, and have watched about 40 videos, but I am clearly missing something very basic. (No slight to the class or instructor; this is all on me).

I have attached a Windows zip file with a bunch of images, and an SW10 file of the parts themselves, that should indicate what I am trying to accomplish … an elbow.SLDPRT.

Please help. Thanks.
