How do I keep the callouts on a drawing document from moving around when I move a drawing view? Please keep in mind that the callouts are not attached to anything on the drawing. They are for argument sake 'Free Floating' and in specific locations.
It sounds like a drawing view was active when you inserted the notation. In that case they are tied to the view even if not attached with a leader. In the attached picture the notation would be tied to the drawing view. If you don't want that, make sure the pink box is not showing when placing the notation.
The one callout was inserted before the drawing view was. I just tried inserting a callout with the drawing view active. It did not respond the same, it stayed where I put it.
Does the moving notation move with the drawing view or is its movement random?
They move with the drawing view.
the simplest way I know to get an annotation off of a view is to cut it (ctrl-x) and paste it (ctrl-v) to the sheet. using "lock sheet focus" if needed.
Thank you, the cut & paste worked. However I am not sure how this started in the first place. Yesterday when I saved my drawings, none of the callouts moved when I moved the drawing. Today they were moving.???
I am also baffeled how it got into the view, but at least we have it sorted, for now.
