How can I replace a component in an assembly and is there any way to move more than one component in an assembly at the same time?
Replacing a component is pretty straight forward. In the assy feature tree, right click the item you want to replace and a dialog box will open. "Replace component" is not in the list that comes up by default so you need to expand the dialog box with the arrow at the bottom. After clicking "replace component" you will be able to select the part you are going to use as the replacement and whether you want all instances of the part to be replaced in the open assy.
I think you can move several parts at once by control-selecting but it can be a little problematic and only if neither part is referenced to something else.
In the assembly toolbar.
Moving more then one component? If they are a pattern or if it is a sub assembly that is contrained to each other.
Or if you select the move command and then hold down the control key and select mopre then one they will all move.
I couldn't find the replace command until I expanded my drop down menu. If you look at the first picture it does not show the replace component but the second one does after I expanded the menu using the arrow. That was my problem thus I had to ask. Like I said in my suggestion for a command finder - I would have just typed Replace Component in NX and it would find the command and also show me the location. I really think all new users should vote for this.
