Can a scale feature's value be driven by a parameter in a design table?
Mike, this functionality was added in SW2011.
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: The scale feature could be controlled by a custom property and API code embedded in an equation. The custom property could then be controlled by the design table for different configurations. However, it would not be possible for different configurations with different scale values to exist and rebuild in the same document at the same time. For example, if Config A has scale of 2 and Config B has a scale of 4, you could not insert both config A and B into an assembly at the same time.
Oops! Nice one. Another reason to finally make the jump!
Sure, if you know the trick.
use Flex instead of scale.
I believe this will only works well for a model with dimensions. I am working with imported geometry.
@Mike, it works with imported geometry too. You will have to link the dimension value of the flex feature (double click the flex feature to get the dimension value details)
@Kieran, thanks for the info
So I'd have to do that in each axis to have an overall scale I take it?
