also my Revision seems to have stopped working, this is linked with PDM?
All the non standard but automated in solidworks properties seems to have stopped working.
(the automatic ones being mass, material etc.)
Is it possible that the author property is under the "Custom Property Specific"
tab? This has messed with me in the past in trying to get certain properties
to show up on the drawing.
where can i find that tab scott?
Just to give you a Idea of my probelm i think,
If i Just go file New Drawing then properties i get Author as shown in picture,
Even Tho it is a different user logged onto the machine, and a different user logged into PDM. Its like solidworks is confused about who is currently logged in,
because in the drawing title box if i save the Drawing the "Last saved by" box is the correct person. But the Author stays the same.
So im not sure if it is seeing the author as the person who created the "template?"

i found the problem with my revisions.
some how i have managed to get my part revison to 3 and my drawing is on 2.
I need my revisions to be kept in sequence.
any idea how to do that?
the author in your jpeg is from pdmww.
the author built into sw is from the summary properties dialog box.
keeping in sync is something you have to do manually.
i prefer to checkin the drawing and let it drag the model in at the same time.

The revision is a system property that can be controled by PDM.
Make sure in the admin tool you are setup correctly to allow the revision
to be driven this way.
This is the tab I was speaking to
It sounds like there is a conflcit of interest here. What I have done at my old job was created a custom
property named "Drawn By" Then in the title block when I would add the note I would link it to the custom
I would create a drop down list of my users so anyone that starts a new drawing
can use this list without having to type.
It sounds to me like the system is getting the information from 2 seperate yet the same property name
from 2 different locations. I hope that makes sense. Try this. Create a brand new custom property
and see if this one gives you the same issues.
Can you post your format?
As an experiment.
thanks scott sorry i have been away last week not had a chance to play with this.
will have alook you asked me to post something before im not sure what it is?
do you mean sheet format?
