I've dimensioned a revolved sketch and imported the item in the drawing but the diameter symbol is not present.
I don't remember the correct sequence during the dimensioning in the sketch for have the diameter symbol automatically added.
In the sketch, if you select a centerline and a line that is parallel to the centerline, it should give you the option to give it a diameter dimension with a diameter symbol, automatically.
You only need to sketch half of the profile and add a center line. When dimensioning select the line and then the centerline click on the opposite side of the centerline from the line selected.
I made all two steps:
1) First select the line and then the centerline
2) First select the centerline and then the line
but nothing....no diameter is put in the dimension.
So I deleted the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks and reopen SolidWorks.
Now it works fine.
The windows and SolidWorks registry are very errors suitable.
Yes sometime Gtol.sym files gets corrupted too. So a restart or replacing this files fix the issues too.
Maybe it is just a matter of the selections used.
If you use the vertical line you get a longitudinal dimension. If you select the borders of what would be the diameter you get the diameter dimension.
Also, when selecting the border of the diameter the mouse indicator changes to show that you are selecting a tangent line of a cirumference.
it's rare that I dimension on drafting, I import items from the model.
Anyway I tried both solution as described in my post, but nothing.
A registry reset has resolved my problem.
