can anyone help me out with this issue i am having with the toolbox...
i am able to drag anything in from the toolbox but when i want to set it down this error comes up.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you don't have your problem solved yet, you might check to see if the directory for your toolbox is in is set to read only, that is the way it needs to be set.
I remember getting this error some years ago and from what I remember it was a pathing issue.
Have you setup the path correctly in here
as well as in your toolbox.ini file?
I also remember calling my VAR and them telling me my toolbox needed to be upgraded.
Meaning we kept it on a server and it hadn't been upgraded to the latest version in a couple
of years at that point. I don't know if this will help you, but good luck.
I double checked the path and it was correct. my company just purchased sw about a month ago. how would i know if the toolbox needed upgrading?
thank you for your help
If you just purchased it then it doesn't need upgrading. Mine was a case where he had
8-9 previous versions our toolbox iterations went through.
This is assuming that you had no previous installed versions, which it doesn't sound
like you did.
These are all checked right?
oh okay thank you.
correct, all that is checked off. our pdm is not set up just yet would that be the cause of this problem?
No, pdm has nothing to do with toolbox. Infact toolbox parts can not be checked
into the vault because they cannot be revision controlled.
that's good to know, thank you.
I called up my VAR. now waiting for a response.
Let me know how you make out. Hopefully you wont have to
do a complete uninstall then reinstall.
i have yet to find a solution for this problem.
checked the folder and it is read only
Jeff Sparks had a good, solid answer for me on this one when I looked into the very problem yesterday. Check this one out...
Error: the toolbox part file 'C:\solidworks data\browser\bla\bla' is currently being modified by another user. please try again in a few minutes.
I was getting the same error, you have to check if you have the read access unchecked and checked.. and hit apply if you get an error then your setup is local , you need to login as admin or call your IT person and get some modifications done, if you are not getting any error after unchecking and checking read access then you can try rebooting your computer, let me know if this is helpful
thank you all for your help. i have called my IT department, so i am just waiting on them.
i will keep you posted.
My IT security opened the folder to user read/write so now I can work but they are not accepting this as a solution. I need to find a way to get this to work without that folder having user write access.
I dont think you need write access to get it to work, just need read access
Original setting was Read/List to all users and all it did was error. Looks like I need to ask support
