I am designing in sheet metal and I have attached the actual part i'm making. It's quite a simple part (a side plate for a pulley) but I can't get SW to make the jog on a sheet metal part that already has forming. If I supress the forming, the jog works fine. If I supress the jog, the forming works fine. Am I doig this wrong? These are simple features, on a simple part with a common manufacturing process. I'm not sure why it's not working...
Is this even possible in SW?
To prove Anna's point move jog1 to be before the stamp feature.
how do you plan on doing this?
if you emboss first and then jog you will crush the emboss at the jogs' apex's.
i cheated but i got it done.
you will need to create another config and suppress tool to flatten.
i think there is a way to get tool to do emboss without cleanup cut.
don't quite remember how though.
i think i have to create tool with old school method and put a split line on side faces at material thickness.
then color remainder of side faces red for removal.
i'll try later.

i was right, the split line method worked.

some artifacts remain. will try to figure out why later.
i think it has something to do with the apex dimension (1.25) on Jog Feature.
i used the same dim for my cut but something is off for whatever reason.
No, you can't do what you want in SolidWorks Sheet Metal. This would require complex metal deformation in mutliple directon with compression and stretching of material.
SolidWorks can't do a form within a form.
SolidWorks can only do simple bends and wipes such that you would do with a brake press.
You will need to use different (non-sheet metal) techniques to model your part.
