I am getting the same exact error on a few drawing files, when I save. The assemblies and referenced parts do not appear to have errors. I am running 2011 sp3, on 64bit Windows7 Pro.
Anybody out there know of a solution or particular diagnostic path I can try?
Things to try.
1. Turn off all add-ins.
2. Move all the parts so when opening the drawing, it can't find any of them, then try to save.
3. Try it on another machine.
4. Start SW with the Rx option to bypass all settings.
5. Start SW in software OGL mode.
6. Rename the CU key and try it then.
All of these things are ideas that may yshow some result. Once you see what changes you can make decisions. If nothing changes, then I am out of ideas for the moment. :-)
Thank you for the input. I will work my way down this list (hopefully not to the end).
For me the work around was to save as a different name then save it back to it's original name. The error was only with a drawing that had a excel table. The issue was the installation of office. Office was install with "One clic installation" instade of a standard MSI installation. Since I reinstall office I dont have this issue.
My "API" error seems to have been generated in relation to the Photoview 360 addin.
I removed it from loading, restarted SolidWorks, and have not seen the problem since.
Thanks for the input reqarding the Microsoft Excel conflict, this may be of us for one of the other designers.
I appreciate the help from all.
