Installation Errors

Howdy there guys.

So I'm trying to install Solidworks 2010 on to my computer but I'm having a problem installing it.

I have enough space for it and I have all of the files downloaded using the download manager it provides but when I try to install it I get an error message.

I keep getting this message.

I have my computer fully updated, have microsoft C++ and visual studio. I don't know why the 3 solidworks products are there considering that im trying to install them, and have never had them on my computer before.

Anyone got any advice as to what the problem is and how I might overcome it?

Welcome to SW forums Farr.

There can be several reasons for it. And some more details might be required to investigate like your system details, OS, which service pack you trying to install or update, 32 bit o 64 bit, do you admin rights, what is size of of total downloaded files, etc. based on the answers one might be able to find out the cause.

  I'm Running Windows Vista, 32 bit and I've downloaded Service Pack 2.1
  I have admin rights
  
  The files have been downloaded and are in "My documents " in a folder called "Solidworks downloads".
  
  The folder is 1.93 Gbs in size
  
  Anything else you need to know?

      The antivirus was turned off during the download of it.
      
      When I go to install it, It goes for about thirty seconds before it goes to the error message.

        How do I install dircelty from the internet?
        
        In the summary tab in the Installation Manager, I only have Download Options and Installation Location.

        You need to turn off your anti-virus software during installation. Sometimes AV software blocks SolidWorks from writing a file and this will result in an installation failure.

    I am surprised that you only have 1.93 gig of download.
    
    At the beginning of the Installation Manager, you should see the installation options.
    Instead of "Individual", choose download only.
    After the download, run the setup from the download folder.
    
    The anti-virus needs to be disabled during the install.
