I can't think of a way to do this, but figured it can't hurt to post...

Is there a way to add a custom property to a part instance in an assembly? I don't want the property in the part file, I want it associated with the part at the assembly level.

The reasoning behind this is that we use a Location Code for items in the assembly. A part may be used in many places and each instance would have a different location code - hence the need for the custom property at the assembly level where its usage becomes specific.

The underlying driver for this is we are creating maintenance documentation "after the fact" and having to manually enter this information into notes. Would be nice to have a linked note. Your thoughts on possible approaches are appreciated.
