Also, can the servers be Windows Server 2008 OS?
I just completed my testing of SW 2011 on a 2008 server running Remote App service so I did not have to make any users upgrade to test it. The video performance left something to be desired, but I have a feeling the same video performance issue would happen with Citrix.
It worked out great just to be sure the actual data function would work like upgrading the parts, design tables, etc.
Thanks for your input Jordan. I was afraid we would see some video degradation - we have a lot of heavy users (that is too say ones that work with large assy's) and that are driven nuts by their current graphics output using nVidia FX3700's.
You can look into adding GPU servers to your environment to boost the video performance. We are looking into it and will be testing it by the end of this month.
I am currently working with Dell, NVIDIA, and Citrix to benchmark SolidWorks (2013) in a Citrix environment.
A faulty GRID video card in our test box is slowing down testing. Without a GRID video card, I do not recommend it at all. Testing of this new video card has not yet produced successful results, so I can't recommend that, either. Testing will continue and hopefuly these problems can be resolved.
If you think switching from a desktop to a Citrix system is going to improve graphics, then you are in for quite a surprise.
