New part in an assembly>custom properties lost?

I have assembly templates, and part templates.

 

however if i have an assembly open. and i go

 

Insert>component >new Part.

The new part has no custom properties.

Any idea?

Correct Answer

Make sure that your settings are pointing to your templates. Look for "Default templates" in system options.
