This topic recently popped up at another forum and I'm trying to find a solution. Basically, the user is trying to create a cone with a flanged edge at bottom and successfully flatten it. See attached picture (cone2). Personally, I don't think this can be done in SW as the flanged edge needs to stretch to accomplish this. But every time I think something cant be done......it can or someone found a work around . Attached is a picture of my solution (cone/flat cone). Although the geometry may not be desirable, I don't know of any other way. Creating the cone without the flange is easy but trying to add the flange after the fact seems impossible. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help!!
If I were going to make one of those parts I would make the cone and make the flange and weld it on. This can be done in SW. If I had to make 10,000 of them I would probably spin them and SW can not do that.
