Did a little digging on the forum but didn't find anything on this.
My issue:
Working with multiple files opening/closing/checking them etc. After I open them and go to delete them (after closing the file of course), I can't delete the files. It's like SW retains them in memory. I notice the files that SW opens up that mirror the part you are working on (for example ~$Part1.sldprt)...even that goes away and I still can't delete them
The only workaround is to shut SW all the way down - wait a few seconds then I can delete them. That is a pain in the pa-tootie.
Work flow:
- Open SW
- Open "Part1.sldprt" (or "Assy1.sldasm")
- Close "Part1.sldprt"
- Keep SW open
- Go to directory with "Part1.sldprt" using windows explorer
- Hit 'delete' button...
- Get nasty "You Can't delete this file because its in use..bla bla bla"
- Say a few curse words at the computer, Bill Gates and Solidworks.
- Shut down SW
- Wait 3.2 seconds as steam eminates from ear holes
- Press delete button very hard
- File deletes
{Repeat}
My question:
Is there some setting that will allow me to just delete these friggin' files w/out closing Solidworks....is there someway to loosen the iron-clad concrete grip off'en my files.
Thanks,
Paul
