Does anyone know where I might find solidworks models of rivet and insert them as we can bolts using the toolbox?
Depending on how much detail you want to add you could take a round head screw
remove the threads and the head slots and with a small amoutn of tweaking you would have your
rivet. Add a design table to control the various sizes. Add some mate references and you have all of the
same characteristics as a toolbox part. Depending on how many sizes, it wont take you that long.
What you are looking for is Library Features. 3D Content Central has the following Library Features: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Features.aspx , But none of them are rivets. Try Googling <SolidWorks "Library Feature" rivets> and see if you can find something.
You can also learn how to make your own library features, or download those from 3D Content Central, and turn them into library features: http://help.solidworks.com/2010/english/SolidWorks/sldworks/LegacyHelp/Sldworks/LibFeatPalette/Create_Library_Feature.htm
The toolbox components have rivet geometry under the DIN, GB, and AS specs.
Never knew that....thanks for the info. I spend all my time in the ANSI Inch or ANSI Metric and would never known of their existence within toolbox. I wonder why SolidWorks doesn't include them there as well.....
