I have a user who is listed as an admin in the vault for Workgroup PDM. When she is signed in and attempts to launch a search all in the search box are greyed out and she cannot enter any text. Any ideas as to what might be the issue?
Is this checked in your vault admin?
No Mr McFadden it is not. Our IT guy has a real problem with Windows Index Search and keeps removing it from our machines.
Well I went over and played around on her system a bit. Changed it over from advanced to simplified and ran a search then went back to the advanced screen and all that was previously greyed out seems to be working again. Looks like just on a glitch in the system somewhere.
So after checking it you were able to search as you should be able to?
It would appear that your user friend who is an admin is being trumped by your IT guy.
At that point I am not sure what the point is of her being an admin if that is the case.
The search tool is essential for the PDM vault.
