Hey, can anyone tell me how to shell one particualr feature of a part without shelling the entire part itself? If you look at the attached photo, the feature I'm trying to shell is the feature I've translated off the surface of the main part (ie. the domed smaller shape). When I shell the feature and try to translate it back to the main part to where it originaly was, it becomes unsolvable, and the shell disappears. I only want to shell the translated feature, so that I can make a particular shape out of it. Is there any way, perhaps, to do this by creating the feature seperately first, then welding it on to the main part again? Please bare in mind that I'm not particularly great with solidworks, so please try and keep your responses to this post as simple as possible. Thank you.
