I have an Intel i7 processor, 12gig of ram and running Windows 7 64bit. Yet I have a lag when I rotate my models? Why would my system lag with those specs?
What graphics card? SW-certified cards: http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html
nVIDEA graphics card. It's on the list.
Can you be more specific: is it a quadro and if so what model?
No mater what your card is, if your models rotate too slowly, it is a a sign that you need more horsepower in your graphics card.
Sorry NVIDIA Quadro FX3800
Do you have problems only with large assemblies or even simple parts?
Could be your graphics driver, because that card is smokin fast. Try running Solidworks RX (Under solidworks tools in the programs folder). What does it say about your graphics card and the drive routine?
It says I need to update driver. However this has been done already, I will do it again and get back...
Did you sort out this problem because it sounds very like one that I am having with a similar hardware set up to you.
When I rotate or move my model, every now and again it freezes. It eventually unfreezes almost as though the system is having to catch up with what it was doing. As it happens approx every minute and a half, it gets very annoying!
Is/was yours a constant thing or occasional and random?
SolidWorks 2011 64bit SP2, Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, 12GB RAM, nVidia FX4800 graphics with the recommended driver from the SW website.
