Hoe to calculate Drag Polar on Solidworks Flow simulation???

    Ashutosh Kumar

I am trying to calculate the Drag Polar of an air vehicle using Solid works Flow simulation, but unfortunately not getting proper results as I don't know the procedure to calculate the Skin Friction drag on this particular software. Can anyone suggest me how I can calculate the Drag Polar of the Air vehicle.

I think you could post process at least forces acting on your model.

For that you need to perform an external analysis with velocity of fluid specified along y for instance.

Then when computation is finished select "surface parameters" and the faces you want to compute forces on.

It shoudl give you x,y and z components of force.

and if I remember well you can see friction and normal forces.

But I don't really know what you mean by "polar" drag force.
