    Sheet Metal Dimensions

    Steve Crompton

      Hi

Is there a setting within solidworks that allows my sketch dimension to be the finished size of a folded piece of sheet metal. In the attached you will hopefully see what I mean. Its something thats been bugging me for a while now.

You will see that the dimension of my sketch is 150 but the actual dimension of the face of the sheet metal component is 143.861. To the guys that fold these components the 150 dim is of no use as it is to fresh air as far as they are concerned.

What I've been doing is subtracting the 143.861 dim from the 150 dim and then adding the difference onto the 150 dim just to make the actual face the size I want it to be.

Surely there is a better way.

      Thanks

      Steve
