Can anyone help with this? I 'm trying to find out if its possible for Delcam's PowerMILL to open SolidWorks.sldprt files or similar SWorks native files.
Is there an exchange prog to do this?
Here are a couple of links that might help you with this.
thanks for the links - I'm looking at SolidWorks as our main CAD package - our sub contractor uses PowerMILL. Want to make sure we have options to exchange files, I know IGES and STEP are recommended by SWorks UK for data transfer. Do you know anyone who transfers data between these two packages?
No, sorry I don't. I used to transfer to Master Cam and that was done with IGES.
ok, thanks anyway. Its difficult to get a straight answer on this from the Sales support guys! just wanted to make certain before we decide to purchase.
No problem. I totally understand!!!
We use both Powermill and Swx and tranfer files using iges. We us pmill 99.99 percent of the time for 3 axis milling and for this iges works just fine.
it's an option you have to pay for from DellCam....sorry. I have a freind in the same boat $$$$ to get it.
