i am taking a class called solid modeling, we are using solid works and it is a very powerful tool!!! i am creating a 8 pin dip socket i have everything done except the chamfers will not mirror, or linear pattern. The sweep i made works patterns and mirrors perfectly why would the chamfer not work?
yes your right it is a dip chip. thank you for the quick response, i think i am using a conventional chamfer, i have only used the software very little, so i havn't learned a lot, my teacher is out for a week and we have to build this. when i am editing the feature it shows that the chamfer works (the yellow lines), but when i accept it it says "some chamfered items are no longer in the model, edit the feature to re-select the items"

Fillets or chamfers when it comes to mirroring and patterning are funny animals.
Apparently you are not the only one who has not only asked this question
but have experienced difficulty in this area.

I would ask you to post what you have, but since you are in school it wouldn't do you much good
in learning if someone else did it for you.

I assume what you are making is what the picture is which is an 8 pin dip chip.
It should pattern and mirror. Are you using a conventional chamfer? Meaning not
surface to surface or variable. Those wont mirror or pattern as nicely.
