Display annotations by configuration?

I frequently have multiple solids in a part and show/hide solids based on configuration. I frequently also use annotations (reference dimensions) so that the customer can see the size of a part. To do this I create a sketch of a box around the part, close the sketch and the place an annotation on that view. The issue is that when I switch to one configuration to another all the annotations stay visible. This results in annotations hanging in space in the file.

I see that you can specify configurations on the tolerance/Precision and the value of the reference dimension but you cannot specify to show or hide the annotation for this configuration. Is this right or am I missing something?

Is there a way to have reference dimensions displayed for certain configurations and hidden for others?
