I have a linear pattern referencing a hole wizard feature. The hole wizard feature contains about 33 holes. The pattern patterns these 33 holes 35 times and goes through anywhere from 2 to 3 sheets. That gives me a total of about 3000 holes that update every single time something changes. I would like to be able to "lock" the linear pattern. Is there a way to do this?

One way is to create another configuration and set the bulk of those holes
to be suppressed in that configuration and use the main configuration for your assembly.
I guess that would be one option, would the holes still exist at the part level (SW is locked up right now or I would try this)?
Yes, they would still exist. Technically you can suppress them or unsuppress them anytime you
need to.
Your model will also load quicker (or at least it should) as well.

Hi Dean don't forget you can load your models lighweight, and in assemlby mode should you have trouble loading the assy. Then after loading it in this manner you can go and make the necessarry changes Scott is referring to.
What I don't understand is why would you use a linear hole pattern when you already have the hole with a hole wizard. And why does the pattern pattern the 33 holes 35 times? Why not do a feature driven component pattern?

Used the 'selective open' option to open the assembly and selected one part to cut down on the rebuild time. Suppressed the 'hole wizard' and 'linear pattern' features that existed in the assembly. These features were also propagated to the parts so I created configurations to suppress and un-suppress the hole features. This worked really well.
