Sometimes I have a message during render: "Model is too large to be rendered" and render will abort.
Sometimes I have a message "no system resources, solidworks will be terminating", SolidWorks is unable to obtain required memory" (or similar, can't remember) and of course SW is terminated :-/
Assembly has ~500 parts (~200 unique parts), but is not complicated.
My workstation: DELL Precision T3400, C2D E8400 (3GHz), 4 GB RAM, nVidia Quadro FX3700 (512MB RAM), Swap file 4GB.
Any ideas?
If you are using an x32 OS, have you enabled the /3GB switch?
What size are you rendering out your images at?
First, I tried 1680x1050, but even 800x600 doesn't work...
PhotoWorks (drop down menu) -> Options.
On the System Options tab, choose "Enable memory settings".
Try toggling that option.
Ha, I tried render with this option checked, and unchecked. The same.
You say the assembly is not complicated, but what is the file size?
Whole assembly with parts (separate files, no virtual) is ~150MB.
Have you tried clearing your temp files? What about rendering in PV360?
One of the main reasons this happens in 3rd party rendering systems is that you have your Image Quality set too high for the render. If you are running out of memory try reducing the Image Quality setting - slider to the left - in Options>Document>Image Quality. I'm not sure this applies to Photoworks but give it a try. If you push the image quality setting all the way to the left and try, and can render, then that will be the cause. You then need to progressively increase quality until you hit the sweet spot.
Are you running an x32 bit operating system? What version of Windows?
If it is x32 bit, then you need to beleive the messages that you are getting. You are running out of memory.
Get more memory and install a x64 bit operating system.
