SW crashed each time I added cpoint to a part
First a rebuild errors mesg appeared asking for a route template - see att. image, after seclected one, clicking ok caused sw crashed
Anyone has experienced this behavior
I think what you're experiencing has to do with inserting that initial CPoint when SW wants to launch itself into AutoRoute correct? And what were you trying to attach the CPoint to?
That might help us understand how the error message came about.
i have seen it happening to my files. It's a bugish thing!!
See my snapshots. You should see CPoint Insertion 1 menu on the left to insert a CPoint.
What i do is this. If i try to insert a CPoint and the second menu appears on the left i press cancel, save the part (dont have to close it) and try again inserting the CPoint. Finally, menu 1 shows and i can add the point correctly.
I have never inserted a point with menu 2, you'ii probably have to point out the path of a routing subassembly, but which one?
OK, let's start at the beginning. The first time you create a routed assembly, SolidWorks automatically creates an assembly template called routeAssembly.asmdot. Is this file set properly in the Options>Routing Files>Routing Template:<directory/routeAssembly.asmdot>?
Check this first...see my attachment.
there are many weird things about electrical routing with SW
the error doesn't seem consistent at all
Sometime, save the file before adding a connection point can avoid this error or just cancel and try it again then it works
Its just a pain ... but I get used to it - at least for now
What version of SW are you using for routing? I'm using SW 2010 x64 SP4.0. I've never had this problem before.
To add CPoints, RPoints, axis, etc to your routed component, you might try using Routing>Routing Tools>Routing Component Wizard and follow the instructions. This is very simple to use.
Have you tried this method before?
".......Sometime, save the file before adding a connection point can avoid this error or just cancel and try it again then it works............."
That's exactly what i was talking about! And it works all the times for me.
I supposed you did set your routing templates correctly and added the path to file locations as well in the beginning of routing.
You shouldnt have further problems,
