I was working with a particularly large assembly and started getting little glitches like vanishing toolbars and a blank window that opened up and would not close. When I ended the session, my computer installed some updates, and the next morning I wasn'table to open SW at all. I get an error message, whose first line is in Chinese (of all things ??!) and the second line says "An invalid argument was encountered". Subsequently, i get a problem details window that says

I tried re-installing SW and even did a system restore of my computer, but the problem persists.

I searched this forum for answers, and I saw references to corrupted registry entries. Before messing with that, i was wondering if there wasn't a simpler answer. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
