I wanted to start a thread to see what other cool SolidWorks generated backgrounds people had come up with. Please post full size pics so we can all share the cool pics. If you want to please also share the model you used to create the photo.
Cool stuff John,
I like the black and white ones you did on Greg Hynd's page.
haha, the black and white ones were very cool...but they aren't mine, looks like Scott Bruins submitted those.
I'm going to try to do a billiard set next, if i can get some free time!
You are right...sorry ...that credit goes to Scott Bruins.
Great idea, John. I will see what i can come up with.
I made a few wallpapers a while ago but 2-3 hard drive failures later I dont have the file anymore. But here are some images if you want them.
Here's a new one I am working on. It's not 100% finished but its close. Hope you like it!
PS. If you want the model you can find it over at http://www.grabcad.com
I make desktop backgrounds for our company usually after doing a product rendering, but I like to add a whimsical touch to them since they are internal. Check out the text on the whiskey bottle in this first one, the schnauzer coffee mug on the second, and the post-it notes and wanted poster (my boss) on the third one.
Everything is done in Photoworks with no afterwork in photoshop; it makes me sad to think what would happen if photoworks ever disappeared from Solidworks

The older versions of SolidWorks will continue to run PhotoWorks but you'll get no support.
Have you checked the PhotoView 360. It's way cool and much easier to use
BTW I can still see some Scotch in the bottle.. How about some party
For my phone
A simple chrome ball in a Japanese shrine.
This is my current desktop. Rob Wolker modelled it, and i ran it through PV360.
Thats cool, do you have the model for the droid?
Do you mean this one in the image or the anatomically correct version? I think I have both...I made it a while back.
Those rock. nice job
Here is one using your files.
Another Robot background. Hope you like it!
The Robot Model can be found here: GrabCAD
I started working on a Robot at the first mention of a competition. Here is a test rendering of the eye. Looks a lot like your Rover's eye!
Here's a recent addition to my collection.
