I am trying to get a "perforated appearance" when rendering a solid body, without having the create the actual holes. The closest I got to what I was looking for was by applying a "circular mesh plastic" appearance, but I could not define both the size and the pitch of the holes.
Any suggestions about how to accomplish this?
It just showed the image of the perforated metal. I'm afraid if you want light to show through you'll have to actually put a million holes in your part. I tried that long ago and it was a memory hog so I don't recommend it.
