Is there any way to build a threaded rod (with outer thread) from a bolt taken from toolbox? I guess it is possible but still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong...

I open a new part, then insert a bolt from toolbox (derived and I save it to my desktop). Still, there is no menu that opens with the attributes of the bolt...
