We will be upgrading to SW2010 from SW2007.
Has anyone successfully perform a mass file conversion from SW2007 to SW2010?
As you open, use then save your existing files SW will automaticlly convert them to 2010 files.
I wouldn't think that you would need to "mass convert" since they are fine as they are and will only change when you open them in the new version. IMHO
The drawback to saving as you go is it takes a little extra time for each file you come across that hasn't been saved to the latest version.
I mass up-saved a bunch of our files (parts, assy's & dwgs) using the task scheduler last year when we went from 2007 to 2009. I had no issues whatsoever. I set up the task to run overnight, and it did its thing.
Is that within SW?
In your Swx folder in your start menu, you should have a solidworks tools folder. Swx task scheduler should be in that folder. I think it is called convert files. There is a fairly in-depth help file if I remember right.
Thanks for the Info.
You bet. Good luck!
