Does SW perform simulations on assemblies
I believe you are trying to use SimulationXpress which work on part files only. For assembly, you need SimulationWorks.
Go to Tools > Add Ins and select SimulationWorks from the list. Then you can run the study/analysis for assemblies also.
only sw premium
I just started with SW 2010 Premium and does not perform Simulations for assemblies.
What is cochrane?
Cochrane is a little town west of Calgary.
Do you know why I cannot make a simulation on an assembly?
You should be able to do simulations on both parts and assemblies. If you want to put your model up I'd be glad to try it and send it back.
I found the solution.
Anyway thank you.
You're right I was using SimulationXpress.
You mean Solidworks Simulation not SimulationWorks.
The study is working on assembly but I have some issues with the mesh.
I keep trying though.
Thanks for your help.
I solved the problems with the mesh and now I got this error message:
Please define Elastic modulus in material properties.
I defined Elastic modulus in material properties, I rebuild the model and save it.
What should I do? The message still pops out every time I hit the run button.
Have you defined the material in the Study? You must define it within the study, it will not carry over from the part or parts.
