If Formula to suppress

I have designed a assembly which has let's say for example a square cut out one side and a circle cut out on the other side.

Each cut out has a separate cover (1 square , 1 round)

I have set up various configurations of this, but what I want the design table to do is:

If I suppress the square cut out I want the square cover to suppress automatically.

I think the only way to do this is by using a formula in excel something like=If A1 is suppressed then B1 is also suppressed, but how do I write this as a formula?

Or am I making this to complicated, could there have been something I could have done in the actual assembly?

Tom,

It seems like this would be really simple. As I recall, the suppression state is set by an S in a column. If that is so, I think you just need to set the value in the cover column to equal the value in the cut column.

Jerry is right.

Just add them both to the design table and set the value to either "S" for suppress

or "U" for unsuppress.

I don't think you can control the suppression of a part's features from the assembly design table.

make a config in the part for each hole. then the equation will be something like =if(c3="square","U","S"), where the config of the part is in column c, and "square" is the name you gave the config with a square hole.

or are these holes assembly features? then you can skip the aprt about part configs.

No, you are right. You cannot control part features from the assembly level

But you can create 2 configurations in the part one with the hole and one without.

Then in the assembly design table you can control which part config gets called out with

which assembly config.

It's simpler than that.

Say, cell C3 is suppression state for cutout and D3 is suppression state for cover. In cell D3, enter "S" in cell C3 and "=C3" in cell D3.

yes, IF the cut is an assembly feature, if it is a part feature, you will need the part configs and the if statements.
