I just returned from a trip and need to return my network license to the server but it, at first, would not let me. I would get an error saying that the desired vendor daemon is down… I rebooted and tried again. Now under the Borrowing tab it does not show me as having the license but under the Usage tab it has me as having the checked out from today until next week, and no SW is not running. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks…

Did you ever get help on this issue from your VAR tech support? This issue sounds to me like something they should troubleshoot. Especially if you've already tried a 'reboot' of the server that your SNL manager runs on, as it could have been a 'one-time' glitch in the communications between your laptop and the License server.

do one thing....
increase your system and server date and restart your systems. suppose your current system date ins 26/04/2011 than change it to 26/05/2011 and restart your system.
after restarting again reset your system and server date. if you have system in network then your SolidWorks will work.

I would not change any dates. Every second year or so one license seem to hang and to cure this you should use the lmremove command in the command prompt. Read the flexlm manual for syntax and adopt it to your system. Good luck.

I stumbled upon this because I have an issue at work where Solidworks
was installed and when you hit the solidworks desktop icon, the advertising
comes up but no session. Was wondering if this was a serial number releasing issue.
