I have SW 2010 SP4.0 installed on my machine. When I check for updates, SW Installation Manager shows that a newer version is available but lists 2009 SP5.1.
Let me know if this is know..
First going to 2009 SP 5.1 is going to an older release.
Second, if you go to the Solidworks customer portal and look for the downloads section
it will show you the lastest SP.
so that is a problem with the installation manager..
maybe the installation manager (new version) is not checking the version of SW while checking for the upgrade or there is some entry which is wrong somewhere...
but I am not sure why this has not been reported or tested...
Can someone from SW check and update us??
Have you reported the issue to your VAR?
It would appear that it is.
In the same screen shot you will also see a selection to submit requests directly to Solidworks,
or you could look up any of the gentlemen that work for Solidworks in this portal and email them
directly. Maybe that would get you faster results.
The Installation Manager will detect all versions of SW that are installed on your PC. Do you have a 2009 version installed as well?
I do not have SW2009 installed on my machine. But I had SW2009 which I upgraded to SW2010.
Don't know if that is causing this behavior but this happens only with SW2010. Earlier I had SW2008 which I upgraded but InstallationManager did not show this problem.
Let me know more...
It sounds as though you just installed overwriting existing versions at that moment.
You might want to uninstall 2010, clean your registry (I have a instruction file on how to do that)
then reinstall it ans see if this clean install fixes your issue.
