System Resource Notification : System Resources are Running Low

I've been running Solidworks 2010 on Windows 7 x64 for the past few months and It very well until I start opening and closing parts/drawings quickly (going through and detailing drawings or updated properties, etc.) and then it comes up with the System Resource Notification : System Resources are Running Low message and eventually the program crashes.

Now I feel like I've got a fairly beefy set-up and I am a little concerned as to why this program is eating up the memory so badly... Please see below for machine specs.

-Dell Precision T3500

-Windows 7 Professional x64

-Intel Xeon W3570 @ 3.20GHz - Quad Core Processor

-6.00 GB of RAM installed

I know that Solidworks recommends 6GB or more memory for Windows 7 x64 based system.. How much more? Got to say I'm a little put off by the requirements of the machines in order to run this software efficiently on a Windows 7 x64 system.. We have a Windows XP x86 system which is 4 years old with 3GB of active RAM and a low end processor that outperforms this computer in the areas I am experiencing trouble in.
