What is the best way to archive flow simulation results?
Which files in the sub folder can be deleted?
I assume that the folder $result_tmp can be deleted.
Oops. I was referring to FEA studies. The same is true for Flow except the one file you want to keep is the FLD one. I don't believe any of the other files are needed to view the results at a later date.
I believe the only file you need to keep is the CWR file. That contains the results for your study. Sometimes I'll delete all the files for the study. Because the setup for the study tab is saved in the SolidWorks part or assembly file. If you need to see the results again, you can simply run it when you're ready.
I've found that for SW Flow Sim results you need to archive th entire folder that contains the results which are numbered based on the number of simulations performed in that assembly; i.e. you will see a folder named 1, or 2 whatever represents the number of the simulation you have performed in that assembly. Also, Pack and Go does not save these results as it does with Simulation results.
Thanks, Jim and Alec!
I will go into folder , then I delete the sub folder [$results_tmp] and all files except 1.fld
