Is there a way/idea to simulate belt drive in assembly layout. I would like to run motion study at the layout level.....
Are you looking for running a simulation or just animation.
For animation, check the links by Jeff Re: The great animation thread.
I have same kind of question and didn't find help from Great animation thread.
Is it possible to make belt conveyor belt move products on belt? I know that this could be done with separate linear motors, but it is so laborious for large amount of products and conveyors/conveyor speeds.
That attached simplified motion analysis assembly explains what I'm looking for.
Henri in that case you might have to model the belt converyor as a chain with multiple links. Using linear motors can be the way (as you have used in your animation) or check if path mate can helpyou.
Once I found from this forum a chain animation called "Crab chain animation" where chain roller worked as pulling roller for all links. I was wondering if it is possible to use some same kind of trick for linear movement?
Modeling chain links feel quite laborious method also. There has to be some simple way to model belt conveyor.
I attach that "Crab chain animation" file in here eventhough I didn't model it.
