I know there is a setting for this but I just can't find it nor a refernce to it. Where is it where we tell the Serial number to index/increment by 1, 2, 3 or 57?
PDM,PDM... I don't know it.
but I can set the increment step(default as 1 but any number works) and increment seed(normally starting from 1) in SQL Server .
Not sure exactly what you are trying to do but, in the admin tool, if you select the serial number you can set the next counter value.
There is not an out-of-the-box setting that automatically increments a serial number by a specified value. Perhaps you are thinking of revision counters? (which can be incremented by a value within the workflow).
Well mine is countinr by twos for all serial numbers. Unless somehow I am asking for it twice (tus the double step).
Yes that was it. I was referncing the serial number generation twice.
1*2*2*2.... NUMBERING IS FREE BUT IT JUMPS TOO MUCH. IT EASY TO OVER 6-DIGIT AFTER SERVERAL TIMES OPERATIONS. IT WILL BE BAD FOR DATA SEARCH.
WHY NOT USE PREFIX OF AFFIX FOR SERIESNO NUMBERING, SUCH AS 2-1,2-2,2-3,2-4, OR A-1,B-1,C-1.
