Hi all,
I am currently working on a simulation study on a mobile crane. This for my thesis.
To simplify the model I have unnecessary elements such as the crane itself and engine + accessories removed from the analysis. Compounds such as welds and bolts and nuts are also not included in the simulation. These were replaced by rigid connections. Furthermore, all steps - joints were defined, the materials were introduced, and crushing forces were determined, ...
According to the program the mesh was ok. The problem arises in the study. After a waiting period of 20 hours (!) has shown a progress of 40% at "forming surface to surface bonding. I think this is only part of the overall study, which still stands at 0%. Now I wondered whether this is normal procedure.
How I can simplify the design?
Thanks
What are you analyzing? Even when you remove the engine, accessories, etc....you still leave the reader guessing a lot. My assumption is you want to analyze the frame and you are running the simulation with solid elements. Can't answer too many questions until we see a picture of the model.
