I'm trying to link the Gap Distance of a miter flange to a sketch dimension but I cannot find the "Gap Distance" dimension when I double click the Miter Flange. How do I get this accomplished?
No luck here also. You can add a reference dimension in the part and use that for linking (that will not work on flat, of course).
Does the dimension show up when you show all anotations? then click on the miter feature?
If so then you can link it through an equation.
it does not show up.
It doesn't show up that's what bothers me I guess. I've been able to "link" most dimensions in my time using SW but I can't with this one.
And I guess that is where I was coming from. I have never used the sheet metal functionality
of Solidworks, but this seemed like a basic issue that should be the same across the board.
I guess not. Odd though.
I feel your frustration!!!
No luck here too Steve. Even it doesn't display any of the dimension except for sketch dimension.
The gap distance is set as one of the parameters under the miter flange feature.
Do not do much with design tables but always found those parameters under features very difficult to put in a design table
