How can I show a part been extruded in animation. For example a flat circle been extruded into a cylinder.
There might be a different way but this is the bulb on my head at the moment. I'll try more methods.
Create or insert the part in the assembly. Insert another part (a simple extruded plate) in the assembly and mate that to a certain distance. Now set extruded length of the circle upto surface and select the face of that plate. Set the plate to hide. In animation change the distance mate value and see the effect.
Instead of that part you may insert a blank part and use the plane of that blank part for distancer mate and extrude upto surface option.
Other option might be to use configurations.
I copied this AVI file from this forum. In this file the tube is getting shorter, but I want the opposite, I want to show the tube extruding out. I'm having a hard time trying to do this, thank you.
In animation it won't let me change the distance mate value.
Try do it with a assembly instead:
Hi, thank you, I could not open the part or assy. I have SW 2010, thanks again.
Try this Animating a Cylinder Grow
Thank you, that really helped.
Deepak, I was able to animate a cylinder grow using only one part and one assembly. But I need to show that in an existing assembly. So I created the cylinder just like you show in your blog and then inserted the cylinder assembly in the main assembly. When I went to motion study and change the distance in the planes mate I get this message:
Moving Part (empty) Air-Tunnel-1-2 suppressed: Mass could not be calculated, perhaps due to missing solid geometry. Mass can be customized in Part Properties to bypass use of solid geometry.
I also created a new part in the main assembly, but had the same results. Just wondering if you have any insight on this, thank you.
I would need to look at the files you created, Please post assembly and all the parts here to check.
I'm posting two files, in one I inserted a subassembly in the main assembly and in the other one I created the part in the main assembly, thank you.
Check the attached.
Deepak, do you know why it only works on Animation, but not on Motion Analysis? Sorry for all the questions I know you are busy, I really appreciate your help. If you know any good source where I can get more insight on this please let me know, thank you.
