From To List Import Error

Hey I am trying to use a from to list to import route data, but I keep getting errors.  When I insert the connectors they are facing the opposite way of what I would like them to be, and I can't mate them to change the orientation or I lose the routing options from the from to list.  Is there a way to mate the connectors and still have the setup options from the from to list?

Also, when I try to go ahead and route with them facing the same direction, it gives me an error that the bend radius is to small, and then when I try to manually change the spline it turns into a flying saucer (see pics).  After that if I do auto route it goes all death star on me.
