I have a job that I need to do that is very similar to an old job.
I want to copy the assembly all parts and drawings into a new folder and rename them all and relink all parts to the assembly and parts in the new folder.
What is the best way to do this?

The best way to copy an assembly and rename it's files keeping all the references is using the built-in Pack and go Tool. (File - > Pack and Go)
You can use the Select/Replace tool to search you file names and replace certain keywords with others.
You can also chose to simply add a suffix or prefix.
This pack and go feature is very powerful, if you have any questions...just ask away.

Yes, pack and go works very well.
FYI, a couple of other tools that are out there is if in windows explorer you RC on the file
you get Solidworks specific tools.
You can grab all the files you need (Crtl-Shift) and do it this way as well.
Or the other way is you can use Solidworks Explorer which is a seperate launch command.
I use this mainly for renaming files. I searches for where the file is used and keeps the association.
I figured the more options you have the better.
