I used simulationXpress for parts to check the stress, but when I tried to use it in assembly. It couldn't work. Could you help me to use simulationXpress with assemblies. Many thanks,
SimulationXpress doesn't support assemblies, as you found out. It doesn't support multiple materials to seperate bodies in part files, so there's no workaround for simple checks either.
If your parts have same material, may be you can save the assembly as part and run the FEA using SimulationXpress (sorry not sure if that can take multi body parts)
My assembly is from different materials. Therefore, I couldn't consider it as one part. Is it possible to do dynamic finite element analysis in solidworks?
Yes it is possible to do a dynamic fea test using the Simulation Premium package. You can run linear and nonlinear dynamic fea studies. Their are three linear dynamic study types (Modal, Harmonic, and Random Vibration).
as Mark said, SimXpress doesn't support assemblies nor multi-body parts, so there is no way to solve this prob, sorry
will the fea simulation results varries depending the assembly part connections ??
s means, how can i mention my welded joint between two hollow shafts with a gusset support?
What you could as a workaround is to save the assy as a (multibody) part and then combine the bodies to one body with the combine feature.
Sometimes you have to add small extrudes to fill up tiny gaps and so glue bodies together.
After combining all bodies you can easily check whether all bodies are attached by hiding the last body or feature in the feature tree. This should hide all bodies then. Then run simulation xpress on the part in the weakest material. Maybe you have to tweek the global mesh size a bit to let it mesh succesfully. This will deliver you information about the weakest spot in the assembly based on the weakest material.
Then run the same test in the stronger material and compare the results
The software simulation xpress can simulation on part (one body) only. So we assign one material for simulation express.
(one body & one material)
Simulation xpress is only for part level analysis..
that is one part with one body with one material
I have a question FEA is same by solidwork simulation or different? I also mis understant the different of both analysis can you help me?
