I am importing a .dwg file onto my model but the .dwg file is out of scale when imported. Does anyone know this is happening?
make sure you select which units you want to import the .dwg file in with. If the drawing is in metric, and you choose to import in imperial, it will scale the .dwg to the wrong size.
what is the scale of the views in the dwg file? if line is 1inch and the dimension says it's .500 inches then it comes in whatever the geometry size is. you will have to scale the geometry to the correct size. again it depends on how someone made the DWG, how old is it? alot of things could be wrong with it.
I created it in Illustrator. Export it as a .dwg. Opened it in Autocad 2009 and checked overall dims and it looked fine. In autocad Primary Units>Measurement Scale is set to 1.00.
this was it. thank you.
