Just got a DXF file which has opened up in e drawings - im running 2010 version of salad works but was wondering if I can import this image somehow to be able to modify and dimension?
Andy - I don't think it'll be on the disk. I had to download it from the subscription site - see attached.
Oops - image now attached!
Andy - You can view/edit/etc in 'Solidworks 2D Editor' (that which used to be called 'Dwg-Editor')? Not included nowadays in the install & is a seperate download. Unfortunately it requires a bit of AutoCAD knowledge...
Haha Keith your like my personal Salad works help guru! I finished the other part - thats so much for your help with the angled bits etc!
Okies, ill grab the disc out and see if the 2D editor is on it. Failing that is e drawings only a way of viewing images and dimensions etc cant be taken off?
ps, used auto cad at uni - may have to dust off some books!
Cheers for your help guys all done!
Now for my resident guru keith is there a way of either making a table in the assembley drawing section (not e drawing), or importing from excel or word?
ie ive got my generic part, so labeled all the dimensions - now I want a table in there with the letters on the drawing to corrospond with the numbers in the table.
Thanking you very muchos!
Andy - It's been years since I did table-driven parts in SW, so the best thing might be to do a search on this in the forum. I've noticed loads of stuff on design tables, Excel, etc recently. Or start a fresh thread as no-one will pick this up otherwise. Good luck.
Ok cheers bud
I don't remember doing anything special, as far as loading any particular modules, to open .dxf files. I just select DXF under "Files of type:" in my File Open box.
