Using SolidWorks 2006, I am using sketch text to place lettering on a part, not by extruding them but leaving their sketch visible.  Because sketch text creates a closed loop of double lines for each character (expecting them to be extruded), the letters have gaps in them and do not look very nice when printed.  They're supposed to be custom marks laser etched into steel plates, and fixing the image for each item pixel by pixel is not an attractive option.  Is there any way to fill in the letters to be solid or sketch them as open single lines?
