i have not once ever used design checker and am curisous to know if anyone finds it useful and what you use it for.
thanks in advance,
I use it all the time. Once you have set the parameters for your parts, dwgs and assemblies to your liking through this application's interface, the design checker will keep you abreast of any inconsistensies between the standards you have set up, when you invoke it. And it will make the changes for you, so you don't have to go through every document property line by line. It will track your dimension standards, custom properties, etc, etc, etc. Of course, a simpler course of action is to set your document standards to a template, save the standard as a specified name in the 'Overal Drafting Standards' tab of the Document Properties window, and apply that standards file to parts, assy's and dwgs to your liking.
Hope that makes sense.
And its great for updating old dwgs to your standards.
Hadn't thought of that. I do a lot of manual updating.
I'll have to give this a try and see if it can reduce my workload.
I like you have never used the design checker. But I am finding what is said to this point in this thread to be
quite informative and interesting. I am finding myself wanting to learn more about it and apply it in the system
I am currently in.
